Richard “Rick” Alvin O’Berry, 51 of Folkston, passed away Tuesday (August 16, 2016) following a brief illness.
Born in Savannah, GA., his parents are David C. O’Berry, Sr. and the late Elvera Redding O’Berry.
Rick worked many years for The Industrial Company as a Heavy Equipment Operator. He was a member of Winokur Baptist Church, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, collecting guns, and spending time with his grand kids.
Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Lisa O’Berry, of Folkston; a son and daughter-in-law, Justin and Delecia O’Berry, of Folkston; a daughter, Ashley O’Berry, of Folkston,; five grandchildren, Travis Jacob O’Berry, Levi Alvin O’Berry, Marisa Corine O’Berry, Anthony O’Berry, and Arianna Alisa O’Berry; his father, David C. O’Berry Sr., of Folkston; two brothers and a sister-in-law, David O’Berry, Jr., and Larry and Carolyn O’Berry, of Folkston; and a sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Rev. Bill “Punkin” Johns, of Waynesville. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A Visitation will be held Thursday evening (August 18, 2016) starting at 6PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
A Funeral Service will be held Friday afternoon (August 19, 2016) at 2PM at Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Manning, Rev. Cliff Adams, and Rev. Bill Johns officiating.
Burial will follow in Allen O’Berry Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Rev. Keith Lloyd, Adam O’Berry, William Haynes, Dallas Shenefield, Tony Shuman, Harry Lee, Olin Thrift, and Daryl Curry.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
