Richard Sim Crews

Hortense – Richard Sim Crews, 56, of Hortense passed away Saturday evening (December 2, 2023) at Southeast Ga. Health Systems in Brunswick, GA. following an extended illness.

Born in Jesup, GA. his parents were William Sport Crews and Betty Wright Crews. He was also preceded by 2 sisters, Debra Crews and Susan Pittman; 1 brother, William H. Crews, Jr.; maternal grandparents, Washington “Wash” Wright and Henrietta Wright; paternal grandparents, Sim Crews and Irene Crews.

Richard was a truckdriver for J & J. He loved mechanicing, fishing, and going to the beach.

Survivors include his wife, Tina Miles Crews of Hortense; 3 sons and a daughter-in-law, Chris Miles (Perrianne) of Anderson , In., Curtis Noel of Hortense, Richard Crews of Moundsville, WV; 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Chelsea Prefontaine (Dylan) of Hortense, Cassie Kicklighter of Waynesville, Satilla Miller (Joe) of Hortense; 12 grandchildren, Haden Kicklighter, Mason Kicklighter, Zalen  Noel, Hunter Kicklighter, Katelyn Miles, Serenity Miles, Abbygail Miles, Mryabell Miles, Freya Crews, Jay Miller, Jordan Miller and Jackson Miller; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, John “Peewee” Crews (Vicky) of Jesup, Danny Wright (Susan )Brunswick; 3 sisters and brothers-in-law, Brenda Crosby (Johnny) of Brunswick, Pamela McCarty (David) of Nahunta, Beverly Wright of Texas; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held Wednesday (December 6, 2023) from 12PM-1PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.

Funeral Service will be held Wednesday (December 6, 2023) at 1PM at the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Wainright officiating.

Burial will follow in Hoboken City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Chelsea Prefontaine, Dylan Prefontaine, Chris Miles, Johnny Crosby, Adam Carter, and Stacy Walker.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Lindsey, Haden Kicklighter, Mason Kicklighter, Hunter Kicklighter, Zalen Noel, Katelyn Miles, Serenity Miles, Abbygail Miles, and Mryabell Miles.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
