Richard Wilbert Daniels

Waynesville – Richard Wilbert Daniels, 59, of Waynesville passed away Monday morning (August 28, 2023) at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick after a brief illness.

Born in Brunswick, GA his parents were Matthew Wilbert Daniels, Sr. and Betty Jean Spradley Daniels. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Rita Ann Thomas Daniels; 4 brothers, Donald Daniels, Joseph Daniels, Ronald Daniels and James Daniels; and 3 sisters, Betty McCarty, Janie Turner and Donna Faye Straight.

Richard was a contractor for Ansco & Associates and a member of Bay Harbor Brantley. He loved working in his yard, watching football and watching his favorite NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon race.

Survivors include his 6 sons and daughters-in-law, Michael Daniels of Brunswick, Adam Daniels (Nicki) of Hortense, Josh Daniels (Jessica) of Hortense, Timothy Daniels (Kaitlyn) of Jacksonville, NC, Tyler Daniels of Blackshear and Jaylen Daniels (Erin) of Nahunta; a daughter, Ida Daniels of Brunswick; 18 grandchildren, Dawson Daniels (Kasi), Emilee Daniels, Cassidy Bridges, Isaac Daniels, Addi Daniels, Reagan Daniels, Wyatt Daniels, Tymber Daniels, Kaiden Daniels, Hayden Daniels, Dalton Daniels, Brinson Daniels, Saylah Daniels, Kyliah Ann Daniels, Kyson Daniels, Brian O’Neal, Keria Davis and Samantha O’Neal; a great grandchild, Amelia Daniels;  a brother, Mack Daniels of Ludowici; 2 sisters and brother-in-law, Brenda Crosby (Melvin) and Dolly Green (Jeffrey) all of Nahunta; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held Friday evening (September 1, 2023) from 6pm-8pm at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.

A funeral service will be held Saturday morning (September 1, 2023) at 11am at the chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Gill officiating. Burial will follow in Daniels Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Chad Head, Jeffrey Green, Tony Turner, Christopher Singletary, T.J. Cady and Aaron Hand.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
