Richard Dempsey Deese

Waynesville- Richard Dempsey Deese, 59 of Waynesville, passed away Monday (January 27, 2025) at his residence following an extended illness.

Born in Dallas, TX., his parents were Oscar L. Deese and Opal Blair Deese, of Phenix City, AL; two brothers, Robert Allen Bayne, of Macon and Christopher Odell Deese, of Phenix City, AL; and a sister, Sandra Guthrie.

Richard worked many years as a Truck Driver and was also a musician. He was of the Baptist Faith and loved spending time with his family.

Survivors include his daughters, Mikayla Rose Dees and Tay Reed, both of Jacksonville; his son, Dewayne Reed, also of Jacksonville; his sister and brother-in-law, Suzau Winn (Zollie), of Waynesville; a brother, Clayton E. Deese, of Berlin, Germany; and an honorary brother, Tom Nalls, of Phenix City, AL.; 4 nephews and 5 nieces. Also several cousins, other relatives and a host of friends.

No services will be held at this time.
