Richard E. "Dick" Barlow,76, of Nahunta, GA died November 3,2009 at Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick, GA of a terminal illness. He was born February 4,1933 in Wellsville, Allegany County, NY. He was preceded in death by his parents, George E. Barlow and Effie M. (Young) Barlow, his brothers, Norman R. Barlow and Louis D. Barlow, sisters Florence Weber, Sarah Phillips, Lois Benjamin, June Laymen, Beverly Rogers, Ethyl Stover, Doris Miese, Georgeanna Weber and Ruth Barlow, all of Wellsville, Allegany County, NY. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea, was a tradesman and landscaper. He enjoyed the Atlanta Braves, Audie Murphy movies, NASCAR, bowling, horseshoes, playing cards (Euchre) and volunteer work at Bayview Nursing Home. He attended church at Twin Rivers Missionary Baptist Church in Nahunta, GA. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Delores Ann (Van Zile) (Taylor) Barlow of Nahunta, GA ; a brother, George E. "Pee-wee" Barlow Jr. of Scio, NY; two daughters, Rebecca (Bill) Rubino of Clearwater, FL. and Kimberly Wingo of Nahunta, GA; two sons, James (Debbie) Barlow of Jamestown, NY. and Richard Barlow Jr. of Orlando, FL. He also raised 10 stepchildren, Michael (Donna) Taylor, of Hortense, GA., Bruce (Theresa) Taylor of St. Simons, GA., Arnold (Annette) Taylor Jr. of Bradford, NY., Robert (Bonnie) Taylor of Statesboro, GA., Nancy (Lawton) Lastinger of Waycross, GA., Barnett (Linda) Taylor of Brunswick, GA., Richard (Crystal) Taylor of Waynesville, GA., Rodney (Lisa Marie) Taylor of Rome, GA., John (Michelle) Taylor of Brunswick, GA., David (Nichole) Taylor of St. Simons, GA. His grandchildren were James Barlow, Joslyn Barlow, Carrie Prior, Michelle Taylor, Michael Taylor, William Taylor, Desiree Taylor, Chase Taylor, Nikki (Calvin) Bartlett, Ashley Tanner, Amber Taylor, Brittany Taylor, Thomas (Heather) Taylor, Erika Taylor, Barnett Taylor II, Amanda Taylor, Richard Taylor Jr., Rebecca Taylor, Heather (Jimmy) Taylor, Rodney (Andrea) Taylor Jr., Kelly Taylor, Jessica Taylor, John Taylor Jr., Janie Taylor and Wesley Taylor. He had six great grandchildren, Haley Prior, Brandon Loper, Jason Hanson, Deven Hanson, Miguel Taylor and Nicolas Taylor. He also had several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Friday, November 6 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Frye Funeral Home in Nahunta, GA. Funeral services will be Saturday November 7 at 11 a.m. in Twin Rivers Missionary Baptist Church, Nahunta, GA., Rev. Terry Jackson officiating.Burial will follow in church cemetery. Pallbearers will be James Barlow, Robert Taylor, Barnett Taylor, Richard Taylor, Rodney Taylor and John Taylor . The family requests contributions to Hospice of the Golden Isles, 1692 Glynco Parkway, Brunswick, GA.
