Waynesville- Mr. Richard "Rick" Franklin Coffey, 47, of Waynesville died suddenly Sunday (February 20, 2011) from injuries sustained in an accident. Born in Jacksonville, FL his parents are Edward Franklin Coffey and the late Margie Herrin Coffey. He is also preceded in death by his grandparents. Rick was a pipe fitter for Georgia Pacific and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed being on the river and loved the outdoors. Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Lynette Bowers Coffey of Waynesville; 3 sons, Brandon Bowers of Waynesville, Justin Coffey and fiancé Hali of Folkston and Seth Coffey of Waynesville; 2 grandchildren, Alli Clark and Branson Bowers;his father, Edward Franklin Coffey of Jacksonville, FL; a brother, Charlie Coffey; and also several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening (February 22, 2011) starting at 6PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. A funeral service will be held Wednesday afternoon (February 23, 2011) at 3:30PM at King Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Johns officiating. Memorialization will be by cremation. Pallbearers will be Justin Coffey, Brandon Bowers, Seth Coffey, Tyler Smith Anthony Todd and Rodney Todd. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
