Riverside Community-Rickey Carwin Haas, 53 of the Riverside Communtity, passed away Sunday (June 2, 2013) at South East Georgia Health System in Brunswick following an extended illness. Born in Jacksonville, FL., his parents are Loralee Brown Wertz and the late Orville Richard Haas. Along with his father he was also preceded in death by his grandmother, Bessie Bell Brown. Rickey was a member of Riverside Chapel Baptist Church. He enjoyed working on his truck, fishing, playing drums, loved his church, and was a football fan. Rickey worked many years as a truckdriver for Joseph Herrin Trucking. Survivors include his wife, Anne Fulghum Haas, of Riverside Community; 4 children and their spouses, April Vellia (Steven), of Jacksonville, Rickey Haas (Samantha), of Riverside Community, Adam Haas, of Statesboro, and Regan Haas, of Riverside Community; 4 grandchildren, Marissa, Isaiah, Makayla, and Steven; his mother, Loralee Brown Wertz, of Panama City Beach, FL.; 2 brothers and a sister-in-law, Lonnie Turner (Wanda), of Tennessee, and Danny Haas, of Jacksonville; 2 sisters, Vickey Ladd, of St. Augustine, and Joanne Thorburn, of Panama City Beach, Fl. A Visitation will be Tuesday (June 4, 2013) starting at 6PM at Riverside Chapel Baptist Church. A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday (June 5, 2013) at 11AM at Riverside Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Wainright and Rev. Eddie Story officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Chapel Baptist Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Richard Gill, Ronald Gill, Jimmy Gill, Chris Gill, Lewis Gill, and Kevin Harritt.
