Rilla Beth Brantley Edgy, 58 of Hortense, passed away early Tuesday morning (January 23, 2018) following injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born in Brunswick, GA., her parents were Raymond Stanton Brantley and Grace Gould Carver.
Rilla graduated from Mercer University with a Degree in Theology, served in the United States Air Force as a Staff Sergeant, and worked many years for United Road as a dispatcher. She attended Pine Ridge Baptist Church in Brunswick and Waynesville Baptist Church after moving to Brantley County. She was also a member of Beta Club, enjoyed reading, and loved her family dearly.
Survivors include her husband of thirty years, Russ Edgy, of Hortense; their God Children who they loved as their own, Jonathan Myers, Gabriel Myers, and Evan Myers; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Beverly Brantley Waid (Barry), of Brunswick, GA., Robin Brantley Horner, of Melbourne, FL., Holly Brantley Hailey (Jerry), of Talmo, GA., and Joy Brantley Berry, of Ridgeville, SC; 2 brothers-in-law and their spouses, Bill Edgy (Hollie), and Richard Edgy (April), all of Brunswick; Also several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.
Funeral Services will be held Friday (January 26, 2018) at 1:30PM at Waynesville Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Ed Hurst and Rev. Joe Carr officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, from 12:30PM-1:30PM.
Burial will follow in Chapel Park Cemetery, in Brunswick, GA.
Pallbearers will be Bill Edgy, Brett Edgy, Bill West, Brandon Williams, Christopher Williams, and Evan Myers.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Waynesville Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund; P.O. Box 160,Waynesville, GA. 31566.
