Waycross – Robert Melton 69, of Waycross passed away Wednesday morning (July 21, 2021) at Memorial Satilla Health.
Born in Alma, GA his parents were Albert Mitchell Melton and Martha Elizabeth Groover Melton. He is also preceded in death by a brother, James Melton.
Robert was a tree surgeon and a family man. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, fishing, listening to music in his car and going to the mountains.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Melton of Waycross; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Scott Melton (Diane) of Hoboken and Brandon Dustin Melton (Ashley) of Waycross; 5 grandchildren, Taylor Graddy (Chris), Shelby Fincher (Taylor), and Dalton Melton all of Hoboken and Ella Melton and Lee Melton both of Waycross; 9 great grandchildren, Christin Graddy, Ginger Graddy, Colton Graddy, Leigha Graddy, Emberlynn Melton, Easton Fincher, Everett Fincher and Finley Melton; 3 brothers and sisters-in-law, Charlton Melton (Bea), Rudolph Melton (Martha) all of Waycross and Stevie Melton of Blackshear; 5 sisters, Marlene Sullivan of Blackshear, Linda Sue Spradley of Otter Creek, Mildred Moore, Annette Walker and Debbie Lee all of Blackshear; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held Friday evening (July 23, 2021) starting at 6pm at Robert’s residence 31 Quail Run Waycross, GA 31503.
A graveside service will be held Saturday afternoon (July 24, 2021) at 2pm at Lake Chapel Cemetery with Elder Jason Deal officiating.
Pallbearers will be Robert Scott Melton, Brandon Dustin Melton, Brandon Lee Melton, Dalton Scott Melton, Taylor Fincher, and Chris Graddy.
Due to COVID-19, we would like to ask all to please follow the rules for social distancing, also face mask are highly recommended at the service. Anyone who does not feel comfortable with attending the service the family would like you to know they understand and covet your prayers.
