Nahunta-Robert Wilder Eddy, 64 of Nahunta, passed away Wednesday (August 6, 2014) at the Specialty Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. Born in Evanston, IL., his parents were Donald S. Eddy and Betty Devere Wilder Eddy. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Suzanne Eddy. He loved shooting skeet, military history, golf outdoors, and his cats. Robert moved to Nahunta on November 6, 2012 from Evanston, IL. He started working at age 16 as a men's clothing salesman, and worked for JC Penney as the Hardware Department Manager. Paternal Grandfather was co-founder of Marshall Field. Mr. Eddy also worked as Special Projects Manager for Ducks Unlimited, and he worked for Braun Company, the largest bottle industry. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Robert W. Eddy, Jr. (Samantha), of Chicago, IL.; daughter, Allison J. Eddy, of Chicago, IL.; 2 grandchildren; 2 brothers and a sister-in-law, Jonathan H. Eddy, of Nahunta, Thomas H. Eddy III (Rose), of Port Barrington, IL.; dear friends, Kim and Jeff Riggins, and Arlene Brown; 3 cats, Azariah, Layla, and Ninja; and a dog, Bear. Also countless cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A private memorial will be held at a later date. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
