Rodney 'Ron' Joseph Belanger

Hortense – Rodney Joseph “Ron” Belanger, 73, of Hortense passed away Monday evening (March 14, 2016) at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick after a brief illness.

Born in Wallagrass, Maine his parents were Treffle “Frenchie” and Ida Ouellette Belanger. He is also preceded in death by a daughter, Margie Robey.

Ron served in the United States Air Force and worked at Anchor Glass in the maintenance department. He loved spending time with his grandkids and being outdoors, riding the 4wheeler and going to the river.

Survivors include his wife of 7 yrs, Hilda Warner Belanger of Atkinson; 5 children and their spouses, J.W. & Ruby Belanger of Hickox, Stephanie & Dereck Cox of Homerville, Shelia & Jimmy Mullis of Warner Robbins, Scott & Lea Patten of Roberta, and Rusty Patten of Pennsylvania; 2 step sons and their spouses, Jasper & Sue Warner and Lewis & Betty Warner all of Atkinson; 21 Grandchildren; 21 Great Grandchildren; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Allen & Beverly Belanger and Reynolds & Lillian Belanger all of Avoco, Maine; a sister, Linda Morrison of Bath, Maine; and also several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation will be held Thursday evening (March 17, 2016)starting at 6PM at his residence, 8301 Hwy 110 W. Hortense GA, 31543.

A funeral service will be held Friday afternoon (March 18, 2016) at 2PM at the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Ion Johns officiating. Burial will follow in Warner Ammons Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Scott Patten, P.J. Warner, Franklin “Tad pole” Warner, J.W. Belanger, Josh Propes, Lewis Warner, and Shane Wade.
