Ronald Nelson Pearce

July 9, 1931 — August 4, 2014

Ronald Nelson Pearce, 83 of Winokur, passed away Monday (August 4, 2014) at Bayview Nursing Home in Nahunta, following an extended illness. Born in Youngsville, NC., his parents were Darius Pearce and Belle Richards Pearce. He was also preceded in death by 4 brothers, Milton Pearce, Staley Pearce, Clayton Lee Pearce & Kenneth Pearce. Mr. Pearce was a member of Riverside Chapel Baptist Church and he worked many years as Maintenance Supervisor for American Cyanamide Company. He served 10 years in the United States Air Force. Ronald loved fishing, gardening, raising cattle, outdoors, watching the Atlanta Braves, and he loved young people. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Janet Johns Pearce, of Folkston; a sister, La Rue Pearce Richards, of Youngsville, NC; 6 sisters-in-law, Evelyn Pearce, of Louisburg, NC, Inez Pike, of Savannah, Mary Jean Austin, of Ludowici, Betty Ruth Baker, of Savannah, Manda Lee Johns, of Folkston, Willie Maude Johns, of Folkston; a brother-in-law, Lloyd Kahlich, of Savannah. Also several nieces, nephews and other relatives. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday (August 7, 2014) at 11AM at Riverside Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Wainright and Bro. Earl Austin officiating. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Riverside Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Paul Smith, Jeffery Johns, Alan Blocker, Roy Blocker, Charles Johns, and Loren Johns. Honorary pallbearers will be J.E. Herrin and Jerry Parker.
