Ronald 'Ronnie' Hampton

"Ronnie" Ronald Hampton, born May 29, 1951 in Hortense, GA. He passed away on February 2, 2014 at the Baton Rouge General in Baton Rouge, LA after a long battle with cancer and diabetes. He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Hampton, and his mother, Eliza Harper, both of Coffee County GA. He was a truckdriver and welder and resided in Georgia for 25 years before moving to Louisiana. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Eloise Broussard Hampton; brother Jesse Carroll and wife Wanda Hampton of Hortense, GA; a daughter Ellen and her husband Donald Sims of Bryceville, FL; and grandchildren Leecy, Chandler and DJ Sims. He is also survived by four step-sons, 20 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; and a loving granddaughter Lee Anna Lockhart who was at his side at his passing. A Memorial Service will be held Friday evening (February 7, 2014) at 6PM at Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Brown officiating. Visitation will follow. Interment will be in the Whitaker Hill Cemetery in Hortense, GA. Memorialization will be by cremation. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
