Nahunta-Roni "Dawn" Thornton Nail, 45 of Nahunta, passed away Monday morning (March 11, 2013) following an extended illness. Born in Flushing Long Island, NY, her parents are Keith and Pearl Laverne Thornton Harrell, of Hortense. She is preceded in death by her husband, Alex Nail; and a brother, J. Stuart Hamilton Hancock. Dawn was a self-employed CNA. She loved to fish and was a wonderful cook; she had a big heart, and loved her grandbabies and children. Survivors include her son, Alex Nail II, of Brunswick, GA; her daughter, Ciara Nail, of Nahunta; 2 grandchildren, Maddox Nail and Isabellah Nail; her parents, Keith and Pearl Laverne Thornton Harrell, of Hortense; 3 brothers, Michael Hancock, of Yulee, FL, Paul Harrell, of Hortense, and Kenny Harrell, of Mustang, OK; 5 sisters, Pat Norman, of Sylvania, GA, Shirlene Harrell, Kandy Cochran, Peggy Bollenbach, all of Kingfisher, OK, and Michelle Leary, of Hortense. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening (March 13, 2013) from 6-8 PM, at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday afternoon (March 14, 2013) at 3 PM, at Frye Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Stayman officiating. Burial will follow in the Hortense Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Alex Nail II, Paul Harrell, Charles Harrell, Michael Hancock, Jim Leary, and Dustin Manning. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
