Ronnie David Baxley

Hortense-Mr. Ronnie David Baxley, 76, of Hortense passed away Sunday (October 25, 2020) at his residence.

Born in Baxley , Ga. His parents were Ernest M. Baxley and Jennie Phoebe Beecher Baxley Pritchard. He was also preceded in death by 1 son, Ryan Baxley; a grandson, Peyton McNabb; 1 brother, Jackie Baxley; 1 sister, Gwen Ponsell; a nephew, Kevin Buie.

Ronnie retired from Hercules and worked as a Rigger. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church. He loved golfing, fishing, reading, and music.

Survivors include his wife, Denise “Sissy” Smith-Baxley of Hortense; 1 son, Mitch Baxley of Hortense; 2 daughters and son-in-law, Rhonda McNabb (Dale), and Karen Baxley both of Brunswick; 1 grandchild, Kimsey Bolinger of Brunswick; 1 brother, Gerald Baxley of Hickox; 1 sister and brother-in-law, Cheryl Buie (Kermit) of Mt. Pleasant; also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the family ask that you follow the rules for social distancing. Also, if anyone who does not feel comfortable with attending the services, the family understands and ask you to be in prayer for our loved ones.

Visitation will be held Wednesday evening (October 28, 2020) starting at 6PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.

A funeral service will be held Thursday morning (October 29, 2020) at 11 AM at Southside Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Beecher and Pastor Ashton Ham officiating.

Burial will follow in the Oak Grove cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Dean Buie, Brett Buie, Terry Steedley, Dru Smith, Dale McNabb, and Tommy Ponsell. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie's Golfing Buddies.
