Ronnie Laverne Brooker

Jesup – Ronald “Ronnie” Laverne Brooker, 73, of Jesup passed away Saturday afternoon (August 29, 2020) at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah after an extended illness.

Born in Jesup, GA his parents were George Washington Brooker and Ethel Manning Brooker. He is also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

Ronnie was retired from the Carpenter Local Union #865 and was a member of Twin Rivers Missionary Baptist Church. He loved spending time with his family and especially his grandbabies. He enjoyed fishing, dancing and farming.

Survivors include his 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Syble & James Johns of Hickox, Elizabeth & Johnny Corry of Odum and Christine & Michael Meyer of Nahunta; 10 grandchildren, Chelcie Corry, Satilla Cyphers (Brock), Harley Thompson (Lindsey), Taylor Gowen (Drew), Johnny “Tripp” Corry, III (Lexi), Jake Smith, Payton Smith, Kaylee Smith, Morgan Meyer, and Molly Oliver; 4 great grandchildren, Aubrey Purvis, Brogan Corry, Brinley Cyphers, Oaklyn Cyphers, Bristol Jackson, Sutton Sellers and Morgan Oliver; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Due to the COVID-19, the family would like to ask all to please follow the rules for social distancing and face mask are recommended at the service. Also, anyone who does not feel comfortable with attending the services the family would like for you to know they understand and covet your prayers.

Visitation will be held Monday evening (August 31, 2020) from 6pm – 8pm at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday morning (September 1, 2020) at 10am at Pine Crest Cemetery in Jesup with Rev. Tim Rowell and Bishop Raymond Willis officiating.

Pallbearers will be Jason Scott, Hampton Brooker, Tripp Corry, Jake Smith, Brock Cyphers, and Drew Gowen.

In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to Atkinson Church of God of Prophecy.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
