Royce Steedley

Hortense-Royce Eugene Steedley, 46 of Hortense, passed away Sunday (February 24, 2013) at his residence following an extended illness. Born in Lake County, FL. His parents were Royce and Linda Lowe Steedley. Royce worked for Dixie Road Builders as a heavy equipment operator; He was of the Baptist Faith, and enjoyed watching movies, and listening to his old country CD's. Survivors include his loving wife, Charlotte Wolf Steedley, of Hortense; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Brandy Lynn Steedley (Edward Hall), of FL., Cathryn Brown (Roger), of Waycross; 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, Brian Lee McGowen, of Indiana, Daniel Lee Carter (Amy), of Tampa, FL.; 8 grandchildren, Emily Brown, Austin, Corey, Taylor, and Paris McGowen, Brandon, Brent, Ashley, and Nicole Holmes; a brother and sister-in-law, William Steedley (Tania), of Hoboken; and Tammie Haddock (Frankie), of TN. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A Graveside service will be held Wednesday (February 27, 2013) at 2 PM, at High Bluff Cemetery with Rev. Monroe Gill officiating. Pallbearers will be Edward Hall, Brian McGowen, Roger Brown, Mark Hersey, Frankie Haddock, and William Steedley. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
