Ruth Elizabeth Carnes

Mrs. Ruth Elizabeth Jones Carnes, 88, of St. Simons Island died Thursday night (October 28, 2009) at Magnolia Nursing Home in St. Simons Island after an extended illness. Born in Martinsville, IN her parents were Clifford and Jesse Stuart Jones. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Charles William Carnes and several brothers and sisters. She was a homemaker who loved cooking, gardening and modeling. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Marty Carnes of St. Simons Island, Deborah & Denny Ward of Suwanee and Cathy & Sammy Compton of Norcross; a son and daughter-in-law, Bill & Marijo Carnes of Palm Harbor, FL; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and also several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
