Sam Wainright

Jesup-Sam C. Wainright, Sr., 77 of Jesup, passed away Tuesday (January 13, 2015) at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick, GA. Born in Folkston, GA. his parents were Otis and Versie Crews Wainright. He was also preceded in death by a son, Tony Wainright; and several brothers and sisters. Sam loved Nascar and everything to do with racing. He loved spoiling his grandkids, and loved the woods. Sam served in the United States Air Force, and also worked many years as a heavy equipment operator. Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Bobbie Sands Wainright, of Jesup; a son Sam C. Wainright, Jr., of Jesup; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Samantha Wood (Bo), of Jesup, and Kendreth Clay (Ken), of Colorado; 6 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; a sister-in-law and her spouse, Ann Rapp (Rick), of Las Vegas. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A Memorial service will be held Friday (January 16, 2015) at 4PM at The Gathering Place: 11097 North Main St. Nahunta, GA 31553.
