Waynesville-Sarah Anne Gibson Herrin, 69 of Waynesville, passed away Thursday (March 3, 2016) at Southeast Georgia Health System, in Brunswick, following an extended illness.
Born in Brunswick, GA., her parents were Fred Gibson and Mary Lou Kaney Gibson. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Freddye Lou Gibson.
Sarah was a member of Lulaton Baptist Church and she was Secretary at the GAP House, and also worked as a data processor for OREMC for many years. She enjoyed reading, cross stitching, and loved her dogs.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Charlanne Turlington (Ralph), of Yulee; three grandchildren, Sarah Bagley, of Waynesville, Jacob Carver, and Jordan Carver, both of Blythe Island; three great grandchildren, Harmoni Bagley, Eli Bagley, both of Waynesville, and Seth Goss, of Brunswick; her brother, Tom Gibson, of California; her sister, Iris Wainright, of Charlotte, SC. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Visitation will be held Saturday (March 5, 2016) starting at 6PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
A Funeral Service will be held Sunday (March 6, 2016) at 3PM at Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Monroe Gill officiating.
Burial will follow in Gibson Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Hunter, John Gibson, Phil Sutton, Ronnie Crews, Aaron Hunter, and Dennis Middleton.
Honorary pallbearers will be staff and girls from GAP House.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
