Shirley White Flowers

Hortense – Shirley White Flowers, 66 of Hortense, passed away Tuesday morning (June 27, 2017) at Southeast Georgia Health System after a brief illness.

Born in Douglas, GA her parents were Joseph Arel and Evelyn Burch White. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Sheldon Lawrence “Charlie” Flowers; a grandson, Rocky “Lil Man” Flowers, Jr.; and a brother, Gary White.

Shirley was a homemaker and a member of Hortense Church of God of Prophecy. She was a devoted wife, mother, and granny and loved spending time with her family.

Survivors include her 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Rocky & Timeka Flowers and Damon & Tammy Flowers all of Hortense; 6 grandchildren, Charlie Flowers, Mersadees Flowers, Roxie Flowers, John King, Rebekah King, and Caroline Henry; 5 great grandchildren, Bayla Flowers, Owen Flowers, David Hayes, Hunter Hayes, and Oakley Hayes; a brother and sister-in-law, Dewayne & Mag White of Douglas; 3 sisters and brothers-in-law, Debbie & Ricky Davis of Bolougne, Gloria & Jerry Davison and Ginger & Ronald Thrift all of Hortense; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives.

Visitation will be held Thursday evening (June 29, 2017) from 6PM-8PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.

A funeral service will be held Friday morning (June 30, 2017) at 11AM at Hortense Church of God of Prophecy with Bishop Keith Burch and Rev. Charlie Brown officiating, Burial will follow in Hortense Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Davison, Chris Flowers, Travis Flowers, Jason Flowers, Jamie Leggott, and Shane Dashnaw.

Family and pallbearers are asked to meet at the Church Friday by 10:30AM.

The family will be receiving friends at the residence of Shirley Flowers, 8580 Hwy 32 East Hortense, GA 31543.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
