Stanley Michael “Mike” Kelley, 65 of Atkinson, passed away suddenly Wednesday (January 4, 2017) at his residence.
He was born in Hunnington, WV., living most of his life in Jacksonville, FL and Brunswick, GA and the last six years in Atkinson. He was a devoted son to his parents, Roy Dean Foster and the late Barbara Borders Foster.
Mike proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and later spent many hours assisting fellow veterans through the VFW. He was a retired Boat Captain who loved hunting, fishing, cooking and helping people as many of his friends and family will attest.
Survivors include his wife, Sophia Rich Kelley, of Atkinson; his two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Marisa Kelley, of Seattle, WA, Patrick and Mandy Kelley, of Texas; his daughter, Michelle Kelley, of Warner Robins; 8 grandchildren, Kelley, Jessica, Max, Paige, Tyler, Camden, Bayler, and Brendan; and his brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Cathy Kelley, of Melrose, FL. Also numerous friends and other relatives.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Saturday, January 14 at 2PM, at 160 Seventh Ave. Waynesville, GA 31566. Friends and family are welcome to attend, please bring photos and stories so that we can all enjoy your memories of Mike.
