High Bluff- Mr. Stanley R. Griffin,61, died Saturday morning (Aug. 20, 2011) at The Satilla Regional Medical Center in Waycross, Georgia after a short illness. Born in Waycross, Georgia his parents were the late Homer Griffin and Dorothy Vivian Wilson Griffin of Hoboken. Stanley was a member at Mount Calvary Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era and loved the swamp where he enjoyed camping and fishing. Preceded in death by his Father Homer Griffin. Survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Cathy Diane Bercaw Griffin, of High Bluff, his Mother, Dorothy Vivian Wilson Griffin, of Hoboken, 3-Sons and a daughter-in-law, Chris Davis, of Nahunta, Kevis Griffin, of Hoboken and Cory and Kelly Griffin, of Hawaii, 2-Daughters and Sons-in-law, Sheila and Timmy Creech and Becka and Dewayne Whisenant all of Hoboken, 8-Grandchildren, Ali and Jackson Whisenant, Trevor and Taylor Davis, Tate and Karah Griffin, Harmon Creech and Kye Griffin, 4-Brothers and Sisters-in-law, Johnny and Charlene Griffin, of Hoboken, Jimmy Griffin, Monroe and Lillian Griffin, all of Waycross, Joey and April Griffin, of Hoboken, a Sister and Brother-in-law, Delores and Tim Bo Crews, of Hortense, also Several Nieces, Nephews and other relatives. Mr. Stanley will be taken to his residence for visitation Monday (Aug. 22,2011) at 2P.M. at 1498 Apple Dr. Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning (Aug. 23, 2011) at 10 A.M. from The Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Hoboken with Rev. Jerry Chancey and Rev. Mike Yawn officiating. Mr. Griffin will lie in state at the church for 1 hour prior to the service. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the High Bluff Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kevis, Cory, Johnny and Jimmy Griffin, Donnie Gunter, Chris Davis, Timmy Creech and Dewayne Whisenant. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home of Nahunta, Georgia.
