Waynesville – Syble Kersey Young, 73, of Waynesville passed away Sunday (July 15, 2018) at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick after an extended illness.
Born in Manassas, GA. Her parents were Walter T. Kersey and Janie Elizabeth "Lizzie" Warner Kersey. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Arvin Young; a son-in-law, J.J. Shinley Stoddard; and also several brothers and sisters.
Syble was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family, fishing, and cooking.
Survivors include her 6 children and their spouses, Lori Ann Lee of Blackshear, Thomas Johnny “J.R.” Lee (Maybelle Hill) of Waynesville, Cindy Morgan of Waycross, Janie Amanda Young of Atkinson, Nancy Lajuan Stoddard of Atkinson, and Jennifur Crystal Young (Jonathan Stoddard) of Atkinson; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; 3 brothers and sisters-in-law, Rocky Kersey (Lisa) of Atkinson, Noah Phillip Kersey (Libby) of Brunswick, and Shorty Lyons of Patterson; 3 sisters and a brother-in-law, Teeai Kersey of Waynesville, Juanita Drury (Benny) of Brunswick, and Penny Sue O’Berry of Patterson; and also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A graveside service will be held Thursday afternoon ( July 19, 2018) at 4PM at Lane Cemetery with Rev. Ion Johns officiating.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan David Stoddard, Phillip Matthew Lyons, Virginia “Ginny” Lyons, Ashely Martin, Johnny Stoddard, and Jacob Stoddard.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
