Sylvia Denise Pierce

Folkston – Sylvia Denise Hatcher Pierce, 65, of Folkston passed away Sunday (March 3, 2024) at Southeast Ga Health Systems in St. Mary’s, GA.

Born in Shreveport, VA. Her parents were Bobby Hatcher and Bernice Lumpkin Hatcher. She is also preceded in death by a daughter, Amanda Pierce; her late husband, Donald Pierce; a sister, Cindy Hatcher.

Sylvia worked in the lunchroom at the Brantley County School Nutrition.  She attended Pleasant Valley Church and she enjoyed doing word search books, gardening, working with flowers, going to yard sales, and spending time with her family.

Survivors include 1 daughter, Jessica “Hope” Sweat of Blackshear; 4 grandchildren, Trey Pierce, Tyler Pierce, Katlyn Pierce, and Mara Wachter;  5 great grandchildren, Ryder Pierce, Kyler Pierce, Skylar Pierce, Jasper Pierce, and Huntley Pierce; a nephew, Derek Threat; and also several other relatives and a host of friends.

No services will  be held at this time.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
