Hortense-Teresa Elizabeth Smith Kelly, 57, of Hortense passed away Friday (March 24, 2017) at her residence following a brief illness.

Born in Gainesville, Georgia her parents are Enoch and Marylyn Highsmith Smith.

She is preceded by her maternal grandparents, Dave and Jesse Highsmith, a brother, Alan Smith, her sister, Tina Coyne, Aunt and Uncle Ann and Elwin Hopkins.

Teresa worked as Tax Appraiser for Brantley County for many years and she was of the Baptist faith.

Survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Tonya and Joel Green, of Meansville, Georgia, her mother and father Enoch and Marylyn Highsmith Smith, of Nahunta, 3-Grandchildren, Hailey, Courtney and Warren Green, all of Meansville, GA., 2-sisters and a brother-in-law, Sherri and Clipper Smith, Nahunta, Beckie Smith, of Atlanta, GA., 2-half-sisters, Talina McMahon and Angel Smith Lakhicharran, both of Dahlonega, GA., 1-half-brother, Trey Smith (Kenia), of Dahlonega, GA., a special niece Casey Ash (Jesse), of Newport News, VA., special friends, Anita Crews, of Nahunta, Rita Forrester, of Hortense, GA. Also several Nieces, Nephews and other relatives and a host of friends. A special thanks to Anita Crews and The Hospice of The Golden Isles in Brunswick, GA.

A memorial service for Teresa Smith Kelly will be held Saturday (April 1, 2017) at 2 P.M. from the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home in Nahunta, GA. with Rev. Hilton Morgan officiating.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice of The Golden Isles, 1692 Glynco Pkwy Brunswick, GA. 31521
