Hoboken – Thomas “Barney” Harris, Jr., 51, of Hoboken passed away early Wednesday morning (November 16, 2022) at HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital in Orange Park, FL after a brief illness.
Born in Waycross, GA his parents are Thomas Barney Harris, Sr. and Sandra Lee Griffin Harris of Hoboken. He is preceded in death by a brother, Travis Harris; his paternal grandparents, Barney & Mildred Harris; and his maternal grandparents, R.L. & Myrtice Griffin.
Barney was a boilermaker and a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. He loved spending time with his 2 kids, family and friends, hunting, fishing, cooking, working with his hands and listening to music.
Survivors include his son, Rhett Thomas Harris (Tara Barber) of Hoboken; his daughter, Emilee Ruth Harris of Hoboken; his parents, Thomas & Sandra Harris of Hoboken; a brother, Tracy Lee Harris of Hoboken; the mother of his children, Kimi Harris of Hoboken; 4 nieces, Olivia Moody (Tyler), Diana Harris, Kelsey Ruesga (John) and Alyssa Harris; 3 nephews, Aaron Harris (Kennedy), Elijah Harris and Noah Harris; also several other relatives and a host of friends.
Visitation will be Sunday evening (November 20, 2022) from 6pm – until at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.
A funeral service will be held Monday afternoon (November 21, 2022) at 3pm at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Randall Gunter and Rev. Ben Glosson officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Aaron Harris, Noah Harris, Elijah Harris, Travis Thrift, Rufus Douglas, Joey Crews, Jamey Tucker, and Bailey Knight.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
