Hortense- Thomas Dewey Moody, 69, of Hortense died early Saturday morning (November 16, 2013) at Southeast Georgia Health System after an extended illness. Born in Childress, TX his parents were Benjamine Alton & Alma Lee Blanchette Moody. He is also preceded in death by a brother, Roger Moody. Mr. Thomas has lived in Hortense, GA for the past 19years and was a truck driver for Sea Board Construction. Also he loved fishing. Survivors include 3 Sons and Daughters-in-law, Ben Moody of Dalhart, TX, Jeff & Julie Moody of Hortense and Dusty & Virginia Moody of Tolar, TX; a daughter and son-in-law, Tina & Tracy Gibson of Hortense; 12 Grandchildren, Hailey Moody, Brandon Moody, Sara Gibson, Ashley Gibson, Mara Gibson, Garrett Musgrove, James Moody, Cameron Musgrove, Ally Moody, Alyssa Moody, Jaden Moody and Jacob Moody; a great grandchild, Kayleigh Mae Gibson; 4 Brothers, Marion "Hoot" Moody of Dalhart, TX, Rick Moody, Ted Moody and Ernie Moody all of Amarillo, TX; 2 sisters, Hattie Berg of Boulder, CO and Ruby Helms of Amarillo, TX; and also several nieces, nephews and other relatives. A memorial service will be held Monday evening (November 18, 2013) from 6-8PM at Waynesville Missionary Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Waynesville Missionary Baptist Church. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
