Timothy Burgess

Hortense – Timothy “Timmy” James Burgess, 57, of Hortense, passed away Monday evening (May 17, 2021) at Southeast Ga. Health Systems in Brunswick, GA. after an extended illness.

Born in Brunswick, GA. his parents were Thomas Gordon Burgess and Lillian Bentley Burgess. He is also preceded in death by a brother, Dexter Burgess; a sister, Kathy Touchstone.

Timmy worked for the Bay Station in Brunswick, Ga. as a manager and was of the Pentecostal faith. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening, playing the guitar, and always loved helping others.

Survivors include his wife, Clara Rodrigues Burgess; 2 daughters, Kimberly Burgess and Amanda Burgess both of Brunswick; 6 grandchildren; 3 brothers and sisters-in-law, Danny Burgess (Hilda) of Brunswick, David Burgess (Marcia) of Waynesville, and Donald Burgess of Hortense; 3 sisters and brother-in-law, Gloria Leggett, Sheila Burgess, and Vicki Underwood (Daniel) all of Hortense. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives and a host of friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday (May 22, 2021) at 5PM at the residence of Ms. Gloria Jean Leggett, 1149 Roberson Rd. Hortense, GA 31543.
