Tiny Ezell Knight Batten

Nahunta- Tiny Ezell Knight Batten, 72, of Nahunta died Wednesday morning (September 14, 2011) at her residence after an extended illness. Born in Hornet, NC her parents were Lynn and Riley Johnson Knight. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Otto Batten; a son, Danny Batten; and 3 sisters, Frances Batten, Ardell Knight and Nickie Knight. Tiny was a homemaker and a member of Hickox Praise and Worship. She also loved cooking, tending to her children and grandchildren. Survivors include 2 sons & daughters-in-law, Randy & Catherine Batten and David & Carol Batten all of Nahunta; a daughter-in-law, Marie Batten of Nahunta; an adopted daughter, Donna Ward(David) of Lake Butler, FL; 6 grandchildren, Lesley & Sheldon Crews, Becky & Jason Herrin, Daniel & Lisa Batten, Charlie & Kelly Batten, Gene Batten and Jack Batten all of Nahunta; 10 great grandchildren; and also several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be held Thursday evening (September 15, 2011) starting at 6PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. A funeral service will be held Friday afternoon (September 16, 2011) at 2PM at Hickox Christian Faith Church with Rev. Chuck Allen and Rev. Otis Johns officiating. Burial will follow in McClellan Cemetery, Hickox. Pallbearers will be Gene Batten, Jack Batten, Daniel Batten, Jason Herrin, Sheldon Crews and Charlie Batten. Honorary pallbearers will be David Ward, Paul Roberson, Derick Roberson, Lynn Batten and Tom Howard. Arrangements were with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
