Browntown Community-Mrs. Tommie "Ruth" Hall Patten,58,of the Browntown Community died early Tuesday morning (Dec. 31, 2013) at her residence with her family by her side. Born in Brunswick, Georgia she was the daughter of Thomas James Hall, Sr. and Laverne Wise Hall. She was also preceded by her brother, Charles Hall. A member of The Little Memorial Baptist Church she had worked with The Glynn County Sheriff's Office as a Detention Officer for many years. She enjoyed the outdoors and loved to work in her flowers and gardening. Ruth also loved to fish. She was an inspiration to all she would meet and was always ready to help out someone in need. Survived by her loving husband, Leslie L. Patten, 2-daughters and sons-in-law, Tina Louise and Eddie Corbitt, of Lulaton, Karen Denise and Russell Sherman, of Browntown, a son and his fiancé, Clifford Lamar Patten (Kimberly), also of Browntown, 12-grandchildren, David Popwell, Caleb Lane, Tyler Popwell, Chelsie Patten, Taylor Patten, Clifford L. Patten, Jr., Caroline Patten, Kelly Davis, Zachary Lynn, Blake Sherman, Christy Corbitt and Kalyn Green, 2-great-grandchildren, Aisley Crews and Aleah Davis, a brother and a sister-in-law, Thomas J. Hall, Jr. and Gloria, of Waynesville, a sister and brother-in-law, Wanda Gail and Bobby Ray Allen, of Sardis, Georgia, also several nieces nephews and other relatives and a host of friends. Visitation will be Thursday evening (Jan. 2,2014) starting at 6 P.M. at The Frye Funeral Home in Nahunta. Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Patten will be Friday morning (Jan. 3, 2014) at 11 A.M. from The Chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Brown officiating. Burial with Honors by The Glynn County Sheriff's Department Honor Guards Unit will be in the family plot at The Little Cemetery in Wayne County. Pallbearers will be her Grandsons. The Glynn County Sheriff's Department will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. Sympathy may be expressed by signing our online registry at fryefh.com.
