Tommy Jacobs

Nahunta – Horace Thomas “Tommy” Jacobs, Jr., 76, of Nahunta passed away Tuesday morning (March 5, 2019) at Harborview Nursing Home in Blackshear after an extended illness.

Born in Hickox, GA his parents were Horace Thomas Jacobs, Sr. and Margaret Lorraine Hendrix Jacobs.

Tommy was a farmer and a member of Hickox Baptist Church. He was a former employee for the county commissioner, a member of the Masonic Lodge, and the Shriners. He loved all things out doors, hunting, fishing, skiing, horseback riding, riding the golf cart and going to the river.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Jacobs of Nahunta; his son and daughter-in-law, Brent & Cheryl Jacobs of Waycross; 4 grandchildren and their spouses, Bridget & Dustin Boan, Hannah Jacobs, Cassie & Steven Howard, and Ethan Jacobs; 5 great grandchildren, Annalyn Boan, Brayden James, Benley James, Ryker Mixon, and Cadence Howard; a brother and sister-in-law, David & Dottie Jacobs of Hickox; 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Sandra & John Shockley of Madison, GA and Dale Halligan of Hickox; and also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Friday (March 8, 2019) from 10am – 11am at Hickox Baptist Church.

A funeral service will be held Friday morning (March 8, 2019) at 11am at Hickox Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Wainright officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Brent Jacobs, Tony Jacobs, Ethan Jacobs, Dustin Boan, Hunter Strickland, and Alan Strickland.

Family and Pallbearers are asked to meet at the church Friday by 10:30am.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
