Van Allen Bailey

Nahunta – Van Allen Bailey, 58, of Nahunta passed away Saturday, (August 5, 2023) at his residence after an extended illness.

Born in Jacksonville, FL his parents are Jan Allen Bailey and Carolyn Leonora Beddow. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Jack Alton Bailey and Nora Louise Bailey; maternal grandparents, Frank Pierce Beddow and Janet Leonora Beddow.

Van was self-employed as a painter. He loved painting and playing the guitar and singing. He was a lead vocalist and lead guitarist in Cutter in Jacksonville, FL. He lived a life of service to his family and friends and was loved in the community by everyone.

Survivors include his son, Noah Alexander Bailey of Jacksonville, Fl.; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Marlaina Marie Murphy (Jonathan) of Jacksonville, Fl., and Kayla Ann Bowman (David) of Live Oak, Fl.; 4 grandchildren, Bailey Jane Murphy, Kade Russell Bowman, Kaia Ann Bowman, and Darrell Bowman; his parents, Jan Allen Bailey and Carolyn Leonora Beddow of Nahunta; 1 sister, Valerie June Hodge of Atkinson; 2 nephews, Aaron Tapley (Kristin ) and Dalton Hodge both of Atkinson; and also several other relatives and a host of friends.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
