Virgil Roberson

Hortense-Virgil Roberson, 88, of Hortense died early Friday morning (July 1, 2011) at his residence following a lengthy illness. Born in Hortense, his parents were Cuyler Roberson and Hattie Lou Pearson Roberson. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Crawford Roberson, and also several brothers and sisters. He was a farmer who loved his family, and also enjoyed fishing. Virgil was also a member of Philadelphia Wesleyan Church. He is survived by his 3 Children and spouses, Wanda and Charles Brauda of Hortense; Michael and Connie Roberson of Moultrie; and Barbara Roberson of Hortense; 6 Grandchildren,Jonathan and Laura Brauda; Andrew and M'lissa Brauda, both of Hortense; Jeremy and Christina Mize of Riceboro; Justin Mize of Hinesville; Jennifer Roberson and David Roberson, both of Moultrie; and 4 Great Grandchildren, Joshua Brauda, Jeremy Mize,Jr., Kayla Mize and Rosalyn Roberson;and also, several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be held Monday evening (July 4, 2011) starting at 6 p.m. at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. A funeral service will be held Tuesday morning(July 5, 2011) at 11 a.m. at the Philadelphia Wesleyan Church (Sawgrass) with Rev. R.C Mathis and Rev. Stanley Todd. Burial will follow in Raulerson Cemetery, Pierce Co. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Brauda, Andrew Brauda, Jeremy Mize, Justin Mize, David Roberson and Michael Roberson.
