Virginia 'Louise' Scoggins

Waynesville - Virginia 'Louise' Hinch Scoggins, 85, of Waynesville, died late Tuesday (July 31, 2012) evening at Hospice of the Golden Isles, after an extended illness. Born in Jasper, TN., Louise was the daughter of the late Frank R. & Jessie 'Sholey' Hinch. She is also preceded in death by 3 sons, Barry, Garry, & Tony Scoggins; 2 sisters, Helen Capehart & Margaret Wells; a granddaughter, Jessie Thompson; & a grandson, Scott Underwood; a son-in-law, James Baker. Louise was a member of the Waynesville Missionary Baptist Church and retired from the Seaboard Construction Co. in Brunswick. She loved sewing, collecting antiques, & spending time with her family. Survivors include her loving husband of 63 years, Maurice S. Scoggins of Waynesville; 5 children & their spouses, Claire & Wayne Thompson of Waynesville, Daire & Ken Smith of Brunswick, Mollie & Dickie Whisenant of Waynesville, Kathy & Henry Allen of Brunswick, & Lisa Baker of Waynesville; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Visitation will be held on Thursday (August 2, 2012) evening at 6 PM - 8 PM at the Frye Funeral Home Chapel, Nahunta. A funeral service will be held Friday (August 3, 2012) morning at 11 AM at the Frye Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joe Carr & Rev. Larry Altman officiating. Burial will follow at the Emanuel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Brunswick, GA. Pallbearers will be Henry Allen, Ken Smith, Wayne Thompson, Dickie Whisenant, Paul Cook, & Bryant Lee. Honorary Pallbearers will be Sean Tindall, Bryan Bell, Rodney Todd, & Dan DuPree. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice of the Golden Isles, Brunswick, GA, or Waynesville Baptist Church. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
