Virginia Way Sallas, 94, of Blackshear passed away Friday, November 10, 2023, at Harborview Pierce County after a short illness. She was born in Jacksonville, FL to the late James T. Way and Toye Bloodworth Way. Ms. Sallas lived in Jacksonville most of her life where she worked for Atlantic National Bank and moved to Hoboken 10 years ago. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Nahunta and always enjoyed reading and playing Rummi.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter, Addison Grace Frisk.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Janis and Earl Frisk of Hoboken; one son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Leigh Sallas of Jacksonville, FL; five grandchildren, James and Erica Frisk of Virginia, Tamara Scott of Hoboken, Donielle Sallas of Jacksonville, FL, Douglas M. and Melissa Sallas of St. Johns County, FL, Anthony and Mandy Walker of Orange Park, FL; 14 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; one sister, Carolyn Way McDonald and her husband Carl of St. Johns County, FL; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
