Wanda Drawdy Hampton

Hortense-Wanda Drawdy Hampton, 68 of Hortense passed away Sunday morning (December 3, 2023) at her residence following an extended illness.

Born in Hazelhurst, GA., her parents were Richard Fulton “R.F.” Drawdy and Bernice Drawdy. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Carrol Hampton; daughter, Renee Thigpen; sister, Joyce Shurpert; and a brother, Gerald Frank Drawdy.

Mrs. Wanda enjoyed crocheting, reading books, picking her blueberries, and loved spending time with her family. She was a homemaker and attended Little Memorial Baptist Church.

Survivors include her two sons, Cory Hampton of Hortense and Quinton Casey Hampton, also of Hortense; 10 grandchildren, Deztinee Hampton, Peaches Hampton, Ethan Hampton, A.J. Mullet, Joshua Mullet, Preston Thomas, Carlie Hampton, Emily Thigpen, Jessica Thigpen and Nikki Thigpen; many great grandchildren; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard Drawdy (Joann), Delton Drawdy (Jenny), all of Waycross, Ricky Drawdy (Jennifer) of Kingsland; three sisters, Shirley Ammons of Hortense, Iris Hipps of Waycross and Inez Butler of Bologne, FL.; Also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

No services will be held at this time.
