Wayne Laverne Hartwig

Mr. Wayne Laverne Hartwig, 67, of Nahunta died Friday morning (August 13, 2010) at his residence after an extended illness. Born in Brunswick, GA his parents were Arthur Robert and Ruth Sarah Morgan Hartwig. Also he is preceded in death by a step-son, James Purdom. He was a technician for Nortell Communications and loved reading and gardening. Also he enjoyed having coffee with friends and making people laugh. Survivors include his wife, Ina Mae Hartwig of Nahunta; a son, Stephen Hartwig of Texas; 5 step children and their spouses, Cheryl & Keith Lightfoot of Statesboro, Michael & Janice Purdom of High Springs, FL, Phillip & Marilyn Purdom and Betty Jo & Jeff Morgan all of Nahunta and William Allen "Doc" Purdom of Covington, GA; 11 Grandchildren; Several great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Gretchen Harrell and Bertha Rhoden both of Nahunta; and also several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
