Nahunta-Wayne Marshall Chesser, 67 of Nahunta, passed away Sunday morning (March 6, 2016) at his residence following an extended illness.
Born in Screven, GA., his parents were Fred James Chesser and Pearlie Mae Jacobs Chesser. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Infant Chesser, Charlie Chesser, and Morris Chesser; three sisters, Lottie Jeanette Chesser, Marian Jewel Chesser, and Katherine Chesser.
Wayne loved horses, spending time with his grandkids, being with his family. He served in the United States Army and was also of the Baptist faith.
Survived by his two daughters and a son-in-law, Amanda and Josh Ammons, of Hoboken, and Stephania Horne, of Nahunta; six grandchildren, Jonathon Ammons, Jacob Ammons, Jeremy Ammons, Kaela Horne, Skyler Horne, and Grayson Horne; three brothers and sisters-in-law, James Chesser, Roger and Kathy Chesser, both of Nahunta, and Marvin and Claudine Chesser, of Ludowici; five sisters and a brother-in-law Lucy Dowling, of Alma, GA., Kathleen Ashburn, of Callahan, FL., Betty Sage, Carolyn and Joe Shepler, and Ramona Moody, all of Nahunta. A special friend, Phyllis May, of Brunswick. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A visitation will be held Thursday evening (March 10, 2016) starting at 6PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
A funeral service will be Friday (March 11, 2016) 2 PM at Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Hendrix and Rev. Leon Wilson officiating.
Pallbearers will be Browning Raulerson, Bart Moody, Chad Chesser, Scott Chesser, Ashton Chesser, Mitchell Dowling, Jamie Chesser, and Robert Womble.
Honorary pallbearers will be, Bradley and Darcel Rowell, Charles Crosby, Betty Carr, Edward White, Kyle Chesser, and Bradley Rowell, Jr.
Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
