Weldon Elison Gilbert

Nahunta – Weldon Elison Gilbert, 72, of Nahunta passed away Tuesday morning (November 3, 2020) from injuries sustained in an accident.

Born in Gainesville, GA his parents were Christopher Columbus Gilbert and Cora Lou Keith Bryant.

Weldon was retired from the United States Army and worked as a foreman after retiring from the Army. He was a jack of all trades who enjoyed doing yard work, tinkering around, joking and teasing around with people.

Survivors include his 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Sonia Moore and Dawn & Chris Hickox all of Nahunta; 5 grandchildren, Katie & David Lee, Taylor Hickox, Branson Hickox, Braydon Hickox and Lucas Moore; 2 great grandchildren, Sophia Lee and A.J. Lee; special friend, Deborah Hook of Nahunta; the mother of his children, Kathy Gilbert of Nahunta; 4 brothers, Jeff Gilbert, Larry Gilbert, Chris Gilbert and Travis Gilbert all of GA; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

The family will have a memorial service at a later date.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
