William C. Allen

William "Billy" Conn Allen, 68 of Nahunta, GA died early Sunday morning (Aug. 1, 2010) at his residence following a lengthy illness. Born in Nahunta, GA, his parents were John Alex and Nora Belle Crawford Allen. He is also, preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Allen and a sister, Joyce Peeples. He served in the U.S. Army and was retired from Gilman's Paper Company. He was a member of Winokur Baptist Church. He liked playing golf, fishing, farming and yard work, he loved his children and especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Marian Davis Allen of Nahunta; 2 Daughters and sons-in-law, Connie & Brian Cook and Audrey and Andrew Lott all of Fernandina, FL; 3 Grandchildren, Chloe and Avery Lott and Brian Cook also of Fernandina, FL; a Brother, Jesse "Jet" Allen of Atkinson; 4 Sisters and brothers-in-law, Yvonne Stewart of Atkinson, Shirley Thrift of Nahunta, Charity "Chat" and Gene Carr of Sandersville, GA and Pamela & Richard Hedstrom of Woodbridge, VA; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be Wednesday evening starting at 6 pm at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday morning (Aug. 5, 2010) at the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Reggie Herrin officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery, Hickox. Pallbearers will be James Stewart, Alan Thrift, Jared Allen, Tracy Allen, Kelly McQuaig, Joey Wilson, Richard Hedstrom and Gene Carr.
