William Eugene Mitchell

Hortense- William "Eugene" Mitchell, III, 74 of Hortense passed away Sunday (February 24, 2013) at his residence following an extended illness. Born in Miami, FL. His parents were William Eugene Mitchell, II and Marie Harrison Mitchell. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Carol Ann Mitchell; a sister, Marie Louise VanDiver. Eugene was a Maintenance worker for many years in Volusia County. He served in the United States Army, and was of the Episcopalian Faith; he loved walking in the woods and collecting old bottles. Survivors include 2 daughters, Mary Louise Mitchell, of DeLand, FL, Margaret Ann "Peggy" McGuirk, of DeLand, FL; 4 grandchildren, Charles Reddy, Patrick Reddy, Carol Reddy, Marie Nicole Mitchell; and a special cousin, Frances Edgy. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday (February 28, 2013) at 3PM at Frye Funeral Home, with Rev. Joe Carr officiating. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service starting at 2PM. Memorialization will be by cremation. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
