Nahunta-Mr. William Carroll "Honky Tonk" Lewis, 64 of Nahunta, passed away early Friday morning (July 24, 2015) at Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross, after a brief illness. Born in Raybon, GA., his parents were Ulice Spencer "Bunt" Lewis and Vera Evelyn Mobley Lewis. He was also preceded in death by his brother, John Darwin Lewis. Carroll was a member of Little Creek Baptist Church in Jesup. He worked many years as a Carpenter for Neal Moon Contractors and served in the United States Army, he enjoyed fishing , and loved to work with flowers. Survivors include his wife, Donna Lewis, of Blackshear; a son and daughter-in-law, Shane Griffin (Evamarie), of California; a daughter and son-in-law, Crystal Joyner Simpson (Daniel), of Blackshear; seven grandchildren, Isaac Simpson, Zack Simpson, Thomas Carl "T.C" Hope, Steven, Justin, Robert, and Zachariah Griffin; his step-mother, Bonnell Lewis, of Jesup; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Elaine Thornton, of Nahunta, Dianne Manning (Rev. Wayne), of Jesup; an aunt, Yvonne Lewis, of Raybon. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Visitation will be held Saturday evening (July 25, 2015) starting at 6PM, at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. Funeral Services will be held Sunday afternoon (July 26, 2015) at 3PM at Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Manning, Jr. and Rev. Wayne Manning, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Rob Lewis Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Isaac Simpson, Darwin Lewis, Neil Moon, Barry Manning, Liston Wainright, Gary Manning, Jr., and Richard Thornton. Family and Pallbearers are asked to meet at the Funeral Home Sunday by 2:30PM. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
