Mr. William Victor "Bill" Highsmith, age 74 of McDonough, Georgia passed away May 6, 2013. He was born in Nahunta, Georgia to the late William Ivory and Ruby Keene Highsmith. Bill served his country in the United States Marine Corps and operated National Pest Control for 40 years. Bill enjoyed fishing, making people laugh, and sitting on his front porch swing. He was very committed to his valued customers throughout the years. Survivors include his children, Teresa (Terry) Brooker of Callahan, FL, Sheila (Brick) Tripp of Ahoskie, NC, Jerry Highsmith of Knoxville, TN, Victoria Highsmith-Giuffre (Ken) of Zebulon, NC; grandchildren, Jason and Jamie Brooker, Savanna and Bricklyn Tripp; brother, Thomas (Joyce) Highsmith of White Oak, GA; sister, Iris Barkoskie of Jacksonville Beach, FL; nieces and nephews, Tommy, Wayne, Belinda, Tammy and Kelley. A visitation will be held Thursday, May 9, 2013 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Haisten Funeral Home of McDonough. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 3:00 PM from the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home of Nahunta. Interment will follow at Smyrna Cemetery. Friends may visit the family Saturday one hour prior to the service at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. In lieu of flowers, contributions are asked to be made to the NRA or the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation in memory of Bill.
