Winnie Lee Clark Carter

Waverly – Winnie Lee Clark Carter, 85, of Waverly passed away early Friday morning (October 27, 2017) at her residence after an extended illness.

Born in Woodbine, GA her parents were Jacob and Agnes Head Clark. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Eugene Carter; a son, Glenn Carter; and a grandson, Little Glenn Carter.

Winnie was a homemaker who loved animals, fishing, shopping and riding 4-wheelers.

She is survived by 3 sons & their spouses, Tommy & Gwen Carter of Hortense, Timmy Carter of Waverly, and David Carter (Joey Carroll) of Brunswick; 3 daughters, Anita Chandler and Melinda Briggs both of Woodbine and Angie Carter of Waverly; 15 Grandchildren; 33 Great Grandchildren; 8 Great Great Grandchildren; a brother, Buddy Clark of Brunswick; and also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation will be held Sunday evening (October 29, 2017) from 6PM-8PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.

A graveside service will be held Monday afternoon (October 30, 2017) at 2PM at Colesburg Cemetery in Woodbine with Rev. Tyler Harper officiating.

Pallbearers will be Jamie Chandler, Andrew Chandler, Anthony Chandler, Edward Briggs, Logan Harper, Tucker Harper, Phillip Marr, Donnie Pearson, and Matt Carter.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
