Yvonne Lewis

Nahunta – Yvonne Mobley Lewis, 74, of Nahunta went to be with Jesus and her husband, Odis on Friday afternoon (September 15, 2017) at her daughter’s residence in Groveland, FL after an extended illness.

Born in Savannah, GA her parents were Alvin Carroll and Bernice Morgan Mobley. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Odis Lewis; and several siblings.

Mrs. Yvonne was a long-time residence of Brantley County where she retired as a CNA for Bayview Nursing Home and was a member of Southside Baptist Church. She was known as “Granny” to everyone and loved all her family and brothers and sisters in the Lord. As a CNA and a Avon Representative she loved meeting people and caring for them.

Survivors include her 3 children and their spouses, Rosa Raettig (Steve) of Groveland, FL, Allen Lewis of Hoboken, and Gerald Lewis (Mary) of Nahunta; 7 grandchildren, Don, Traci, Alex, Carla, Tyler, Amanda, and Clifton; 7 great grandchildren, Mason, Zoey, Lane, Raylee, Robbie, Jasper, and Jaxson; and also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation will be held Monday evening (September 18, 2017) starting at 6PM at Southside Baptist Church.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday morning (September 19, 2017) at 11am at Southside Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Johns and Rev. Leon Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Rob Lewis Cemetery in Raybon.

Pallbearers will be Don Edenfield, Alex Raettig, Tyler Raettig, Richard Gibson, Tony Gibson, Richard Thornton, and Tommy Spell.

Pallbearers are asked to be at the church Monday morning by 10:30am.

The family will be receiving friends at Elaine Thornton’s residence, 4353 Buffalo Creek Dr., Nahunta, GA 31553.
