Yvonne Mary Labranche Simpson

Nahunta – Yvonne Mary LaBranche Simpson, 79, of Nahunta passed away early Thursday morning (January 21, 2016) at her residence after an extended illness.

Born in Detroit, MI her parents were Victor and Edna Rivard LaBranche. She is also preceded in death by her husband, John Stanley Simpson, Sr. and several brothers and sisters.

Yvonne was a house keep for the Days Inn in Jekyll Island for many years and a caregiver. She was of the Catholic faith and a member of the Nahunta Senior Citizens, the VFW and the American Legion in Michigan. Also she loved being with her family, baking, decorating cakes, and sewing baby blankets.

Survivors include her 4 Sons and their spouses, John & Joann Simpson of Nahunta, Dennis Simpson (Randall Crawford) of Nahunta, Tim & Darlene Simpson of Bristol, and William “Bill” & Colleen Simpson of Raybon; 3 Daughters and their spouses, Margaret “Maggie” & Terry Griffin of Brunswick, Sandie Marie & James Lanford of Clio, MI, and Dawn & Jack Wright of Cass City, MI, 25 Grandchildren and their spouses, Kenny Penzien, Jr.(Tina), David Thron, Sean Griffin(Amanda), Thomas Griffin, Michael Wood, Sr., Carla Rockey (Andy), Lyn Simpson, Jack Wright, Jr., Jeremiah Wright, Tony Wright, Chris Wright, Amanda Wright, Connie Wright, Mindy Wright, Danielle Wright, Eddie Lanford, Staci Lanford, David Lanford, Jessica Drury (Tristin), Nikki Nettles (Eric), Timmy Simpson, Jr., Crystal Woods (Angela), Bill Simpson, Jr., (Kayla), Sara Benedetto, and Nick Benedetto; 28 Great Grandchildren; and also several brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation will be held Friday evening (January 22, 2016) starting at 6PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.

A funeral service will be held Saturday morning (January 23, 2016) at 10AM at the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Wainright officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Michael Wood, Sr., Thomas Griffin, Bill Simpson, Andy Rockey, Wyatt Blount, and Tony Wright.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
