Yvonne Queen

Nahunta- Yvonne Lee Howell Queen, 76 of Nahunta, passed away Tuesday (April 9, 2013) at St. Vincent Medical Center. Born in Nahunta, GA., her parents were Harvey W. Howell and Emmie N. Hickox. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Queen, Jr.; a daughter, Sandra Ann Westberry; a grandson, Thomas J. Reeves. Yvonne was retired from King Edward Cigar Factory as a machine operator. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church; she loved cooking, crossword puzzles, watching TV, and going out to eat with her family. Survivors include her son, Donald Ray Queen, of Schlatterville; her granddaughter, Jennifer "Renee" Reeves, of Nahunta; and a great grandbaby on the way; her step-father, William D. "Bill" Griffin; her sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Gabriel "Buster" Strickland, of Nahunta; 4 nieces and nephews, Teresa Johns (Richard), of Nahunta, Harvey Strickland (Sandra), of Blackshear, Dustin Lee Johns and Fiance (Necole Rooks), of Nahunta, and Thomas Johns and special friend (Jadison Coker), of Nahunta. Also several friends and other relatives. A Visitation will be held Thursday evening (April 11, 2013) at 6 PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. A Funeral Service will be held Friday afternoon (April 12, 2013) at 2:30 PM at Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Cliff Adams officiating. Burial will follow in High Bluff Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Richard Johns, Dustin Johns, Harvey Strickland, Joey Queen, Wesley Wilder, and Curt Wilder. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
